Book Worm

First off, I hit 200 followers yesterday! I'm so excited! Giveaway soon!

I love to read. I’ve been a nerd book worm my whole life.
So, I thought it might be fun to add a ‘What I’m Reading’ section on my sidebar.
Now y’all will know what I’m busy doing instead of crafting…

For the past few months I’ve been reading the Southern Vampire Mysteries/Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris.

Yep, all 11 of them.
The HBO series True Blood is based on these books. I love True Blood and I loved these books! They ain’t your Twilight vampires…

I’m only about 100 pages into the book, but I like it so far.

And this wouldn’t be a Junk House post without sharing the deals I got on these books:
Southern Vampire Mysteries – Borrowed from Mom
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo – Store credit at Anchor Books*

Next up:
The Girl Who Played with Fire – Savers $1.99
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest – Still Looking

*Anchor Books is a used bookstore in Prescott, AZ. They have an awesome trade-in policy and a great selection. I turn in all my books that aren’t “keepers” for store credit. I’m not sponsored by them or anything, I just love that place.

Have you read any of these books? What are you reading right now?

  1. Yup, I've read all of them! And the other two Steig Larssons - that trilogy is is excellent. Right now I'm reading 'Life Class' by Pat Barker, set around the outbreak of WWI.

  2. Sorry, can't say as I am into vampire stuff, but I did just finish listening (yeah, I do a lot of audio books, only way to get in my reading and work at the same time!) to 10th Anniversary by Patterson. It was a great book, I love the Womens Murder Club books. Currently I am listening to Nora Roberts Chasing Fire.

  3. I'll have to look at the library for the Charlaine Harris books. I just finished reading "The Hunger Games" trilogy by Suzanne Collins and it was fantastic. I'm actually having trouble finding something new to read b/c those books were so good. Nothing's measuring up.

  4. Getting books: I'm a member of PaperbackSwap.com, and I L-O-V-E it! I'm a huge reader, usually 5-8 a month, and the only way I can afford it is through the site. Check it out, and if you join, list me as your referral, I'm "Craftykimmy" on there. :)

MamaMonki, I highly highly highly recommend the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead and Maria V. Snyder's "Study" series: Fire Study, Magic Study and Poison Study.

Vamp Academy is a 6-book series with a spin-off coming out next month. You won't regret reading it!

I'm a new follower from Kitty Cats :)

  5. Yay, I love books!!! I just started the Sookie books too. I'm only on the second one though. My husband and I are totally addicted to True Blood and now I have a new appreciation for Sunday nights. I'm so glad you posted about books you are reading. It's so much fun!
