Sigh.
Did you notice that the title isn’t ‘Craft Room Reveal’? Yeah, that’s because I’m not finished with my makeover…despite having the whole summer to work on it.
Although the room isn’t finished, I’ve made a lot of progress since this:
I kicked off my craft room make over with some cleaning…okay, A LOT of cleaning!
Then I emptied the room - I took down the shelves and took apart the desk.
Last time you saw the room the walls and trim were freshly painted gray/white. And the shelves were returned after being painted white.
And here we are today –
The desk is back…and it’s now a chalkboard! I was unsure at first, but I love how it turned out. I had originally planned on staining the desk, but it’s made of thin, cheap veneer so it didn’t work out as planned.
So, I didn’t finish everything, but let’s review and update the original to-do list (updates in italics):
Touch up walls and desk
Re-install file cabinets
Artwork
Create sewing station
Create craft station
Organize remaining items
Not too bad! All of the big projects are pretty much done…except the whole re-upholster chairs thing. It’s kind of a long story, so the chair saga will have to be a future post. Anyway, I can’t wait to get this room finished, so I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of it soon.
Anyone else have a summer project? Did you finish it or slack like me?
