2011 - A Look Back

Happy 2012 everyone! I hope y'all had a fun and safe New Years Eve. I wanted to do this recap post a couple days ago, but as you can see, that didn't happen. But better late than never right?
 

Here are my 2011 blog highlights:

My mom and I painted the kitchen, dining room, and living room!

My mom and I painted the guest bedroom. No more hot pink and blue!

June
No more Purple Pooh!

 

 And I turned 25.


July
One of my most popular projects: ORB glass jars for the bathroom.

I bought the pretty white bedding of my dreams.

I finally finished my guest bathroom makeover!

 

And we had a new addition!

My boyfriend's dad built us a new gate.

I sewed bird-y goodness pillows for my master bedroom.

I cooked like a madwoman!

2011 was such a great year and I'm so thankful I got to "meet" all of you this year! Here's to another fun year of projects, blogging, and new friends!

November – A Look Back

My computer still dying a slow death, so I haven't been posting lately…but I can still do my monthly recap because my pictures are already edited and online. Looking back it was a slow month – that’s what happens when you are out of town 3 of the 4 weekends. And then sidelined with computer problems! Anyway…

I started the month with some thank you shout-outs. I’ll say it again – you ladies are seriously cool.

We took a weekend trip to Greer, AZ and little Ringo got to play in the snow for the first time.

I sewed not 1, not 2, but 3 new pillows!

I completed one master bathroom project.

And shared the rest of my master bathroom to-do list.

I participated in Lesley’s first photo challenge. And then sucked at linking up for the next couple challenges…

October – A Look Back

Time to look back at all that was (or wasn’t) accomplished during the past month.

October was full of outside projects. We finally have a place to sit.

We brought in some heavy machinery.

And ended up with a pile o’ dirt!

My boyfriend’s dad built us (and Ringo) a new gate.

I also posted a list of 16 projects (maybe someday I’ll post the entire list…although that list would be scary).

And I finished 3 of them.

The ol’ blog got a makeover and new buttons.

And I did some Pinterest cooking (and reviewing).

You also learned who my first movie star crush was at jodie noted.

And finally, some Halloween fun.

It was a good month at The Junk House! This month you can expect more outside projects and hopefully some more projects crossed off the list. And the usual nonsense!

September – A Look Back

I just realized I haven’t done my monthly recap since May…

I felt like such a slacker this month because I sucked at posting regularly, but looking back I see that I actually did finish a lot of projects (including my first finished room).  I guess that’s why it’s a good idea to do a monthly recap! I don’t want to just rehash old news, so I’ve included a few new pictures! Keep an eye out for those.

Now, let’s reminisce.

Part 1 of my nightstand project was completed - I painted a pair of yard sale nightstands from pink to black.  

We spent Labor Day weekend in Las Vegas.

I co-hosted the Crafty Scrappy Happy Me Thursday Party with Jaime.

I teased some PIPs

(projects in progress).

And then finished one of them!

The blog got a little navigation makeover. And then that makeover got a makeover.

The biggest accomplishment: I finally finished the bathroom! And shared all the deets!

And we got a puppy (which explains lack of posts and completed projects)!

I have some BIG plans for October, so hopefully it’ll be bigger and better than September! They say October is the best time of the year to plant fruit trees in Phoenix…hint hint…
